Another of my dad’s minimalistic (but tasty!) recipes, for a wartime crumble mix that uses breadcrumbs rather than flour.

Prep: 15 mins
Cook: 40 mins

1 cup brown breadcrumbs
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup suet


  1. Mix ingredients together and use as a topping for the crumble filling of your choice.
    Cook as for a regular crumble – medium oven, until the top is crispy and the filling is bubbling 🙂
  2. Swap the sugar for some savoury seasoning and you’ve got yourself a savoury crumble mix.
